The snorkeling was very good in Mexico. Part of the adventure the one day, after snorkeling out in the ocean covering about a mile, we came back and went snorkeling in one of the caves. Very colorful, and scenic, but very cold, or as they said, “very refreshing!” Here is Sarah and I posing at the turn around point.

This is one view of what we got to see above the surface of the water. Below the water, again was very colorful, and crystal clear. There was not much for fish here, as the bulk of this water was fresh water. Stay tuned as we continue to exlpore Mexico the active way….

Some more great views of the ocean while at Mexico. Great scenery…great time for relaxing. We did a lot of walking along the beach, and it hardly even seemed like exercise. When you have some great temps, and great things to look at, the time goes by so fast. We will continue as the week goes on…

Today marks one of my favorite months in the world of nutrition. March is National Nutrition Month and this year’s theme is “Eat Right with Color.” Adding a splash of colorful seasonal foods to your daily intake not only gives you a festive meal, but also provides a great deal of nutrients. Including a variety of foods and colors to your diet will help you maximize the nutritional values of your meals. Stay tuned to future posts as we explore the color guide to foods.

Well, reluctantly, we are back to South Dakota. We had a great vacation in Mexico…first time there. If you can’t get out of the cold here, then you can explore Mexico this way. I am going to take you on a tour of some of the great sights, and show you some of the things we did while on vacation. You have to take time to relax and enjoy, but you can still find time to stay active as well. There were lots of activities going on, which definitely helped, because I have to say, the diet kind of went of vaction also. For short time periods, that is OK also. You have to enjoy some of these things in life as well. You can help balance this out a little bit by continuing to stay active and exercise. We took walks on the beach, ran outside, worked out in the fitness center they had, went snorkeling several times, and took tours of the sights that invovled a lot of walking as well. Of course, we had plenty of R & R as well. Stay tuned for a tour of Riviera Maya in Mexico!
