Many have asked how our last STRIVE 2 Survive sessions have went so I thought I’d briefly discuss it here. We have been very successful thus are and look forward to our next spring session starting Tuesday, April 5th!
We have had individuals lose anywhere from 2-25lbs, drop up to 4 inches in their waist, drop their triglycerides by 200 points and drop their cholesterol and blood sugars drastically! Since everyone’s goals are little different, the results vary per individual.
We are striving to help each and everyone of you live a healthier lifestyle and make positive impacts in your health. These results are consistent with our own goals for the program as we are not aiming to see drastic weight loss fast as that would be called a ‘fad diet’ and we are not that! If you are considering our program, don’t hesitate to contact us via email or phone to learn more. We also want to congratulate all of our participants on a job well done as we continue to STRIVE 2 Survive!

To help celebrate National Registered Dietitian’s Day today, I am going to discuss one of my favorite colors of produce: red! Red fruits and vegetables offer a great deal of vitamins and minerals that help maintain a healthy heart, vision, immunity, and like the other colors, help reduce cancer risks. Each color offers different nutrients, which is why we encourage you to get a balanced and colorful diet, ensuring you are meeting your nutrient requirements and aiding in disease prevention. Try adding some colorful red produce to your diet!
Fruits: cherries, cranberries, pomegranate, red/pink grape fruit, red grapes, watermelon
Vegetables: beets, red onions, red peppers, red potatoes, rhubarb, tomatoes

Well, reluctantly, we are back to South Dakota. We had a great vacation in Mexico…first time there. If you can’t get out of the cold here, then you can explore Mexico this way. I am going to take you on a tour of some of the great sights, and show you some of the things we did while on vacation. You have to take time to relax and enjoy, but you can still find time to stay active as well. There were lots of activities going on, which definitely helped, because I have to say, the diet kind of went of vaction also. For short time periods, that is OK also. You have to enjoy some of these things in life as well. You can help balance this out a little bit by continuing to stay active and exercise. We took walks on the beach, ran outside, worked out in the fitness center they had, went snorkeling several times, and took tours of the sights that invovled a lot of walking as well. Of course, we had plenty of R & R as well. Stay tuned for a tour of Riviera Maya in Mexico!
