The snorkeling was very good in Mexico. Part of the adventure the one day, after snorkeling out in the ocean covering about a mile, we came back and went snorkeling in one of the caves. Very colorful, and scenic, but very cold, or as they said, “very refreshing!” Here is Sarah and I posing at the turn around point.

This is one view of what we got to see above the surface of the water. Below the water, again was very colorful, and crystal clear. There was not much for fish here, as the bulk of this water was fresh water. Stay tuned as we continue to exlpore Mexico the active way….

This was the cenote where we went snorkeling. The top right of the picture is the deck we got to jump off to get in the water, and on the left side is the zip line we got to go down in as well. The snorkeling was great here, lots of things to look at, very clear water. Spent about 1 hour here. Following this, we got to go into one of the caves to go snorkel, and I will show pictures of this tomorrow.

Here I am being pushed on the zip line. This, and the jump off of the deck, were a lot of fun! This is also part of a good vacation, right??

While in Riviera Maya, we went hiking, walking to Tulum–the site of a Pre-Columbian Maya walled city serving as a major port for Coba. The ruins are located on 12 meter (39 ft) cliffs. Tulum stands on a bluff facing east and the Carribean Sea. Tulum had access to both land and sea trade routes, which made it an extremely important trade hub. Tulum was at its height between the 13th – 15th centuries.

It was a very interesting place to visit, and great for pictures. We spent about 3 hours there, walking, viewing the Sea, watching the iguanas, and touring the sites. The Mexican adventure continues….
