One view from the top of Terry Peak out skiing. What a view! I am glad I had my camer on my that day. It also allowed me to take a few rest breaks and take a few minutes to really take a look at the view. You really do get a different perspective when you are at the top, and coming down different paths between the trees. Unless you see it, it makes it hard to describe the true experience. Fun day, and got to share it with Sarah, one of my brothers, and a nephew.

Last weekend at Terry Peak in the Black Hills. Temp in the upper 20’s. Made for some great pictures as well. I just had with me my point and shoot camera in case I wiped out. I will show some scenery pictures over the next few days from the view on top of the mountain. Pretty impressive. Here you see two shots of Sarah coming down the hill. No big spills for her either. It was a lot of fun, but you realize how much you use for thighs for control on the skis. Legs were wiped after 3 hours of this.

With the weather warming up, it would be a great time to go out cross country skiing. Sarah and I had an afternoon off last week when we were in the Black Hills for a conference and we went cross country skiing. Weather was in the upper 30’s–perfect! We spent the afternoon up in the Hills on the Mickelson trail. Wonderfull way to spend outside, and enjoy the scenery, and exercise all at the same time. Will show some more pictures over the next few days.

One way to help hold off illnesses this winter season is to be sure you use good handwashing techniques. Antibacterial soaps or hand sanitizers can help prevent spread of illnesses. The overall basic theme is to wash hands often, and with soap. This is still one of the more effective ways to help reduce the incidence of colds, flu, and other winter illness. Remember to cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing, but then be sure to wash your hands well.

OK. Show of hands….who is officially tired of winter? If we get anymore snow, I think the house will be buried. I already can’t see out of the kitchen window. One bright spot is at least I am not having to do as much strength training inside, as the shoveling is accumulating fast, and is weight lifting and aerobic exercise. The snow was good the last several days when Sarah and I were at a conference in the Black Hills. The afternoons were free, so one day went cross country skiing, and the next day went down hill skiing. I will have some posts coming up of this, plus intermittent ones in regards to staying healthy through the winter. I have gotten a little bit more behind on discussing this, as other interesting things have come up to talk about. Oh well, never a shortage of topics. Keep your chin up, and lets use this weather to our advantage. It also makes us appreciate Spring and Summer more.

Nothing like having some mild, warmer temps like the end of last week to start getting out more and doing things, only to have the weather come back to a crashing reality this weekend.
